A very warm welcome to Captain Shaw's C.E. Primary School; a small, rural Church of England Primary School known for our strong family ethos and inclusivity. Situated at the heart of Bootle Village on the West Coast of Cumbria, we are in the ideal place to bring together our beautiful surroundings, unique heritage and supportive community, all in a new, vibrant and exciting curriculum!
Here at Captain Shaw's, all our family, from Nursery to Year 6, are fully involved in creating our topic visions, which are realised through real-life, purposeful projects or 'vehicles', allowing children (and staff) to experience the National Curriculum in new and exciting ways; linking subject matter together where it makes most sense and enriching children's experiences even further. Combine this with our Christian ethos, passion, wonder and high expectations and you have encapsulated Captain Shaw's CE Primary School.
