  • Community Allotment

Children and staff are incredibly proud of our garden and allotment area—it’s a much-loved part of school life. We set out to create a multi-sensory outdoor space where children can connect with nature, develop an understanding of how plants grow, and learn how small actions can make a positive difference to our planet. Wherever possible, the area has been developed using recycled materials, helping to reinforce our commitment to sustainability.

We are delighted that our work has been recognised with multiple Gold and Curriculum awards, reflecting the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone involved.

Take a look at our journey as we brought this space to life…

As part of our pledge to support our planet, we campaigned to create a 'grow local' allotment. We applied for the Tesco Community Grant and were awarded £1500 to make it happen...

    The children designed the space...

    Built the space...

    Organised and tidied!

    Weeded!

    Planted!

    Harvested!

But our outdoor garden space didn't stop there! Nursery, KS1 and KS2 continued to develop the allotment, adventure and reflection areas...

Our 'Hotel' area is looking great! The birdhouses KS1 created in Design & Technology (using recycled materials) are perfect for the space...

We now have a wonderful space where we can continue to learn and grow...
