  • Vision & Values

'Seek what is best for everyone, beginning with the last, the least, the lost, the most vulnerable and the most forgotten.'

A very warm welcome to Captain Shaw's C.E. Primary School and 'Little Treasures' Nursery. A place of warmth, kindness, respectful relationships, inspirational learning, motivational experiences and high aspirations for each and every child's achievement.

Here, we make every experience worthwhile for every child, every day. We are a part of their journey and, as such, do our utmost to ensure each child fulfils their own academic, personal and spiritual potential, not just here, but beyond our school and far into the future.

Our core values underpin our school culture and rich curriculum. Combine these with passion, wonder and high expectations, and you have encapsulated Captain Shaw's C of E Primary School & Nursery.

    Promoting Fundamental British Values

As well as our school values, we actively promote British values to ensure young people leave school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that, while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

What does this look like in our school?

Our school values and British values align and are embedded within the culture of our school, throughout our curriculum topic visions and 'vehicles' and within individual subjects. Children take regular opportunities to reflect, learn about and act on these values. Please visit our curriculum page to learn more.
