School Clubs

At Captain Shaw’s, we believe that the experiences children have beyond lessons are an important part of school life. Clubs give children opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, spend time with friends and simply enjoy doing something different.

We also want these opportunities to be accessible to every family. That is why our Breakfast Club is free and we keep the cost of our after-school clubs as low as possible.

Breakfast Club – Free for Everyone

Our Breakfast Club is free of charge and is open to all our children.

We have always chosen to provide Breakfast Club without charge because we want it to be something any family can use when they need it, without cost becoming a barrier.

It gives children a welcoming and settled start to the school day, with time to eat, talk, play and get ready for the day ahead.

Breakfast Club: 7.30 am – start of school (8.50 am)
Cost: Free

After-School Clubs

Our after-school clubs run on:

Monday • Wednesday • Thursday • Friday

We keep the cost at just £2 per session so that as many children as possible can take part.

The clubs we offer change over time because we listen to our children. We ask them what they would like to try and, wherever we can, respond to their ideas and interests.

This means our programme can evolve rather than children simply being offered the same activities each year. Whether they want to be creative, active, learn a new skill or explore something they are curious about, we want clubs to provide another opportunity for children to have a go, find something they enjoy and flourish.

Everyone Is Welcome

Our approach to clubs reflects our wider commitment to inclusion.

We will always consider what an individual child may need to participate successfully and make reasonable adjustments where these are needed. If you think your child would like to attend a club but may need some additional support to do so, please talk to us.

We don't want cost or additional needs to prevent a child from joining in.

What Clubs Are Running?

Our clubs change during the year as we respond to children's interests and the opportunities available.

Information about upcoming clubs and how to book is shared with families through Class Dojo.

Clubs are bookable through ParentPay.

If your child has an idea for a future club, encourage them to tell us – some of our best ideas come from the children themselves.
